  2. SYMPTOMS. Early signs may begin with a feeling of food such as soft bread
  3. or meat being stuck behind the breastbone. Pain may be persistent or occur
  4. with swallowing and loss of weight occurs.
  5. CAUSES are unknown but hot, spicy foods, smoking and excessive use of
  6. alcohol is suspected. Develops mostly after the age of 50.
  7. TREATMENT. Consult your doctor immediately at first signs.
